I do not read books that often. When I do, it is because the subject matter strongly captivates me. I love history, and I love Paris, so this one was a no brainer for me, and I highly recommend it. Alistair Horne takes you on a journey from the Romans to the last days of De Gaulle. He not only tells the story of the city, but captures the fabric of life at each age. It was literally a page turner for me-I could not put it down. I hadn't planned on having book reviews on my blog, ha!…so that's how much I loved it!
