paris…le sigh.

Paris-sunset

I won't be seeing Paris in February…I made the tough decision to cancel my trip. I am disappointed, but know it's the right decision for my health, the babies, and everything we have going on. My brother and friends all understand, but I am bummed I won't be spending time with them. However, I have the beautiful memories of my last time there, and so much to look forward to this year. I will continue to share my francophilia here, of course, and look forward to the day we can travel with our children!

Notes

  1. I’m sorry Susan. After experiencing my own trials and tribulations last year I can tell you that everything happens for a reason and I know 2012 is going to be an absolutely wonderful year for you. I only wish you the best for 2012 and to think the next time you visit will be with your babies! xo

  2. Oh, I can understand your disappointment!

But let me tell you: I’ve been in Paris when I was pregnant (with full blown morning sickness) and it was NOT fun. I think you made a wise choice. I still shudder thinking about how sick the smell of coffee made me. :)

    Take care!
    Nichole

  3. I SO needed to hear that, Nichole, thank you! It seemed a bit risky, especially with twins…I know my husband, parents and doctor were both getting a little concerned. Of course I really wanted some paris preggo shots, but oh well. C’est la vie!

    Happy New Year to you!

  4. Just think about this: TWO BABIES! Two sweet adorable twin babies who will undoubtably come out speaking french, wearing stripes and eating macarons.

Your heart is filled with Paris, which means theirs will be too.

    P.S. When are you due?

  5. Kayla, you always know just what to say. Your comment put a huge smile on my face!! Not to mention, such a beautiful sentiment. I am due in July. ;)

  6. Oh Susan I bet you are just sad & super super happy all the same! Such a hard decision, but it says a lot for your character to cancel what you want to do for the sake of your health & those 2 little ones inside! Shows you’re going to be a great mom :) The next potential trip can just be with a bigger family!

There’s always Samantha Brown episodes of Paris–she has a few;)

  7. Paris est dans ton coeur, Susan. C’est juste “partie remise” (game postponed) comme on dit en Français. Belle et Heureuse Année à toi! Happy to hear you are expecting
Bernard from Provence, currently in Biarritz.

  8. I agree with the others, health has to come first! Especially with two little bundles of joy on the way! Paris will be waiting to greet you and the twinsies in the near future. Hope 2012 is treating you well!! Bises!

  9. Yes, mixed emotions for sure Lindsey! Thank you, I appreciate your comment, and I have seen Sam’s Paris episodes…all great! xo
