I gave mr. fleurishing a piece of metal for his first father’s day. It’s intended use is for holding paper. Green paper, to be exact. That paper keeps us warm and safe, feeds us, makes us feel secure. It sustains our way of life and provides us with experiences and memories that cannot be given a price. Time and energy are sacrificed, day in, day out-for our family. So to me…this steel symbolizes strength, integrity, and love. That is the essence of fatherhood, isn’t it? My husband continues to amaze me, and I thank my lucky stars for him every day. What were you thankful for this father’s day?

Notes

  1. This is gorgeous! I despise when people ask this and I realize I’m making myself a hypocrite right now…but it’s too awesome not to ask “where oh where did you get this??”

  2. What a thoughtful gift! I love the meaning behind it. In the same vein, my husband helped with dance recital duty on Father’s Day weekend and as I lamented the fact that he didn’t get much relaxing time, he reminded me that it was great spending time being a dad because work often interrupts the dad time. :)

    • thank you Katie…and so true, mr. fleurishing always enjoys simple daddy time!
