ladurée soho

You may have noticed I was in New York City two weeks ago for some meetings, and if not, you can see my adventures via the hashtag #fleurishinginnyc. Of course, I made time for my favorite neighborhood (SoHo), and place – Ladurée! A trip to NYC just simply isn’t complete (pour moi) without a stop there. You can imagine my delight when I received an invitation from Ladurée to come and enjoy some treats – yes please!! My visit happened to fall on the most gorgeous spring day – it really couldn’t have been more perfect weather to enjoy their courtyard. I savored every moment, every sip, and every bite…I was one blissed-out Francophile. Click through to see their lovely courtyard and more eye candy…

Each salon of Ladurée Soho has it’s own unique feel and decor, and the courtyard is no exception. Elegant and inviting, it’s spacious and yet somehow intimate, due to expertly placed greenery. Soon after I took this photo, all the seats were filled, but I felt as if I was in my own little world. I could spend hours gazing at the menu, as there are so many delicious choices to be made, but I settled on my favorite Marie Antoinette tea, an assortment of macarons, and an Ispahan.

Why an Ispahan you ask? I only recently discovered this specific delight, while in Paris  – it is a smooth rose flavored macaron biscuit with rose petal cream + fresh raspberries (swoon). It’s almost too pretty to eat…almost. I savored my treats for what seemed like an eternity, in true French fashion. No one will rush you here…once you’re inside the doors, life slows to a beautiful, luxurious pace. You’ll forget you’re in New York. Merci mille fois Ladurée for the royal treatment!

    • ditto Renee, but you can have a little taste of it (pardon the pun) in NYC! your kind words are much appreciated!

    • oh yes Marina…I discovered the Ispahan croissant this last trip and died and went to heaven (although it feels wrong mentioning Hermé here, gulp). ;)
