”A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.”

This girl is still smiling, even after her first major mishap knocked her front tooth clean up into her gum and bone. Yep, it makes me cringe too. I cried about it for a solid day, weighed down by the mommy guilt…what could I have done to prevent it? The answer is, nothing. Accidents will happen, especially with toddlers, and I had to accept that fact and move on, which was easier thanks to all of the support on instagram. It makes for a great story (focusing on the positive), and oddly seems to fit with her personality…tenancious + wild, although always a lady. A lady who is missing a tooth.

”A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.”

Our Saturday morning ritual involves a long walk, a stop at Starbucks, and then a “secret” fountain by our courthouse. The kids crave routine, and at times, so do we. Henry was having fun playing follow the leader (the leader being sissy)!

I introduced Marie to my vintage typewriter and she was hooked in an instant. She hits the space bar until she hears the ding…it’s the simple pleasures in life, you know? I’m sure it won’t be long before she’s a best-selling author. The stress of her next deadline is already getting to her, ha – that face!! I’m so glad I caught that on camera.
