dollhouse challenge!

My grandfather built beautiful dollhouses, and I was the lucky recipient of 3 of them in his lifetime. He donated most to his church, and was passionate about his hobby…only stopping when he could no longer handle such tiny parts with care. I have always loved miniatures, and I decorated my dollhouses continously, and am convinced it played a big role in my interior design career! Recently, Emily Henderson (of HGTV fame) launched the "I'm a Giant" challenge, encouraging us to build or buy a dollhouse, decorate it, and share the fun! Well Emily…I accept, with glee! I will be repairing and renovating the custom dollhouse above (that's how it looked when I was 12)…I can't wait to share my journey. It will be sweet & sentimental for me, as well as fun! Are any of you taking the challenge?!

Irene…lovely name, not so lovely storm. We will be needing these this weekend, as the best case scenario calls for a LOT of rain. We live in a suburb of Philadelphia, and are hoping for the best, and keeping our friends and family elsewhere on the east coast in our thoughts. You can never be too careful, so we are prepared for the worst, and hoping for the best. Stay safe everyone…and given that we have power, I’ll be back here on Monday. This is a piece of cake compared to an earthquake, right?!   ::wink::

(took this shot recently at Terrain…these are on my wish list)

Eliott

Who is this handsome little guy you ask? My nephew in France…Eliott, whom I have yet to meet. But…not for long! I will be back in France early next year, and I'm already counting the days! I haven't seen my brother since our wedding in 2009, and in 2010 our planned Paris meeting was messed up due to the strike. I miss them all so much, and can't wait to meet the boy who will carry on our family name!
