travel with me…
My mind is here…at the top of Mount Equinox, Vermont. I am dreaming of cool, crisp air, vibrant fall colors, apple cider and homemade donuts. I am ready and waiting for fall, and it can't come too soon for me…it's my favorite season. I spent a good portion of my childhood in New England, and there is nothing else like it in autumn. Sigh…
chateau de chenonceau
In my opinion, one of the most beautiful structures in France is Chenonceau. Situated on the River Cher in the Loire Valley, it is extremely picturesque. Built and re-built since the 11th century, the existing chateau was built in 1515. Henry II gave it to his mistress, Diane de Poitiers in 1547 and she made it her own. After Henry II's death, his widow, Catherine de Medici had her evicted! The Renaissance interiors have been well-preserved, with many original furnishings. Well worth a visit!

This interior is made for me…a little bit of glam and sophistication, mixed with rustic elegance and simplicity. I could move right in…permanently! This delicious space is courtesy of Haven In Paris, the luxe vacation rental agency, and is situated on the historical and picturesque Ile St-Louis. For a unique travel experience, I highly recommend staying in one of their luxury rental properties…they have price points and locations to suit everyone. I enjoy browsing their site periodically just to get a glimpse inside such beautiful places. This certainly is my definition of a haven!
weekend trip: savannah
Why not take a weekend trip to Savannah? It’s a magical place…dripping with history, mystery, and intrigue. I find it to be quite sexy!
Here are a few of my recommendations when visiting…just enough for a weekend…
1. The Paris Market-gorgeous & inspirational shop. I dare you to leave without something.
2. The Paris Market. I’m that serious about it. ;)
3. Savannah Bee Company-they have a “honey bar” for tasting. Need I say more?! Warning-you may be a tad hyper-do not attempt in the evening.
4. Papillote-delicious French fare on the go!
5. Elizabeth on 37th. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Intimate & romantic!
6. Also on my list for dining…Alligator Soul.
7. After dinner, getJazz’d!
8. Wormsloe historic site (shown above)-it is truly breathtaking.
