I owe the internet, twitter, and facebook a huge MERCI for introducing me to this lovely lady, Lindsey…aka Lost In Cheeseland. It all started when I found her fabulous blog, and then social media brought us together. After meeting in Paris last year, we were able to catch up during her visit to Philly (she's from here), and it feels like we've been friends forever. We had a lovely lunch at Terrain, and then I got to show her around our little town. Treasured time, and I hope to see her again soon, in Paris..?!

le tour de france

tourdefrance

July,  for moi, means…Le Tour de France! I am not a cyclist. I don’t even own a bike at the moment- I’m still dreaming of this one. I sort of accidentally started watching the sport around 2004 and my love for it has grown each year since. This is the ONLY sport I think about, look forward to, and obsess over. I know…I’m a francophile, so…it figures. However, there are so many other reasons why this specific race gets me going. The lead up to it, the excitement, the preparation of all involved is incredible. The stamina and athletisicm required to withstand even one day amazes me. It is very unfortunate that drugs have permeated cycling (but that’s another discussion entirely).  Seeing so many different regions and towns in France is a highlight for me, and keeps my mind off of those issues. I love watching the peloton, and the thrill I get watching the best battle it out on Alpe-D’Huez or le Galibier. Vive le Tour!

the lake…

Billylake

I'm missing the summers I spent on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH growing up, and I hope to get back there soon. It is a very special place for me, as so many of my happiest childhood moments happened there. The last time I visited I took Billy, and we went kayaking together! It is one of my most treasured photos, and memories. Early morning, calm waters, loons swimming along next to us…it was perfection.

le dîner en blanc…

Ledinerenblanc

This would be the latest addition to my life list…to attend "le dîner en blanc" in Paris. You have to be invited to this exclusive party, which is held in a different (and secret) location every year. The only requirement is that you wear white, and come ready to dine and party amongst thousands! It's hard to imagine a party more magical in the city of lights. After many years of the tradition around Europe, it will be happening in New York soon as well…click here to register. I will hold out for Paris…bien sur!

for fancy birds

Birdhouse2

We took a leisurely country drive this weekend, and stumbled upon these elaborate birdhouses. Maybe fancy birds live here, or an elderly bird, or possibly a younger bird couple with an appreciation for historic architecture. Whatever type of feathered friend they might be…they are living in luxury, don’t you think?
