Headed into the city today…I love our proximity to Philadelphia. I visited as a child, but I am enjoying re-discovering it as an adult. The history here is palpable, and, like this photo, the old and new co-exist in harmony (for the most part). So much to see…it's a good thing we'll be living here for a long time.

After coveting the gorgeous handmade flowers byEmersonmade for some time now, I finally have one to call my own! Their attention to detail is quite amazing…from the petals to the packaging. Just as exciting is the debut of their clothing line in August…I am on the waiting list for the yummy organic linen skirt with pockets. All skirts should have pockets, don’t you think?!

Happy Birthday to my Mom! This photo speaks volumes about who she is–artist, librarian, teacher, and bright light. It is because of her that I know so much about art (especially Impressionism), love the smell of old books and libraries, can be so resourceful, am an amazing host and can talk to anyone, can jitterbug and swing, write a mean thank you note, know the color wheel like the back of my hand, and hear classical music and imagine an entire story choreographed to it. I’m sorry I have to wish you Happy Birthday from afar this year…I love you.
