farewell facebook
I finally bid adieu to my personal page on Facebook. It’s been a long, slow goodbye for me…seven years is a long time to be tethered to a social media outlet. It’s been mostly a positive place, but in recent years I’ve felt more and more negative, and it’s worn on me. Out of the hundreds of “friends” I have, there are approximately 20% that I truly KNOW or want to keep in touch with. I interact with the friends + family I care for the most via text, email, and good old fashioned snail mail. Not to mention, my current need for simplicity is far reaching…from something as seemingly silly as white paint in my home, to pairing down my social media outlets. As a blogger, I’m overloaded, and need to devote my attention to what brings me the most return, both personally and professionally. I’m devoted to instagram, twitter and pinterest, as my efforts there come back to me twofold. For now, my business page will remain, but I’m debating whether to remove that as well…my following really seems to be elsewhere. I’m thankful for the memory making + keeping Facebook has provided over the years, but my memories live elsewhere now. It feels bizarre to say goodbye, and yet oh so freeing.
Have you considered leaving, or left already? Please share your thoughts.

”A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.”
My beautiful girl…such an old soul.
bon weekend
I must preface this post by telling you this photo has nothing to do with anything…I just like it. Ok, now that we’ve cleared that up…happy friday friends! I know I promised photos of our updated kitchen, but it turns out my kitchen only has perfect light for about two hours a day, which seem to always happen when I’m toddler wrangling. Plus, keeping the kitchen clean enough for an attractive photo is a feat in itself…my point being, it may be a little bit until I can “reveal” it. Keeping it real folks! I hope you have a lovely weekend planned…here are some links that inspired me this week!
BON WEEKEND!
the adventures of fleur + mozart
In an effort to show Marie + Henry how much they were on my mind while traveling in France, I packed Fleur + Mozart (their beloved blabla dolls) into my luggage. I explained to them that they were going on an adventure with Mommy, and we would all be back soon! While it was a bit cumbersome to carry them with me everywhere, it meant the world to see their faces light up when they saw them with me, and honestly it gave me comfort, especially when alone at night and missing them intensely. Sure, I got a few stares, but mostly made people smile…I even had one person ask me for a photo with them! Don’t worry, they had a relaxing bath upon their return along with plenty of snuggles.
I wonder where they will travel to next?!
