soho

What a whirlwind week-nap transitioning with the twins (more on that later), minor surgery for mr. fleurishing, and last night…SOHO! I was in town to celebrate my Red Tricycle Award win, along with friends Jahje + Amy…it was a much needed ladies night for us working mamas. I rarely get into NYC these days, but when I do, I always find myself downtown with camera in hand, simultaneously dazzled + dazed. I do have a preference for this part of the city-the architecture is beautiful, and there is such an elegance about it (much like Paris). I can’t help but daydream about living in a light filled loft, with soaring ceilings and fabulous acoustics. My apologies for a slow blogging week, but I have much in store for next week, including the first philly creatives feature (finally)! Wishing you all a happy + relaxing weekend!

I recently heard about a new “better for you” drive thru in our area, and couldn’t wait to check it out. Could it be that a farm to table fast food concept existed, and nearby?! Ladies and gentleman of the Philadelphia suburbs, I’m here to tell you it does! This weekend we all piled into the car and made our way to Farmer’s Road Drive Thru, located in Chadds Ford. Specializing in organic ingredients, owner Courtney Rozsas and executive chef Ryan Sulikowski work with local farmers to keep fresh + seasonal items on the menu. For lunch we chose the grass fed beef burger and the hummus wrap, which both came with sweet potato chips and an all-natural soda (the ginger was so good). Both of our meals were delicious, and we’re anxious to go back and try their breakfast offerings! We didn’t have time to sit and enjoy the well designed interior, but they have tables and chairs inside and out, with ample space for families. I like this new kind of drive thru-it’s an eco-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, tummy satisfying place…you should check it out.

bon weekend

Hello Friday! What a week, whew…I’m exhausted and elated all at once. It’s been a good week for business-a home feature, an award, and a party feature by my sweet friend Lindsey…check it out! The weekend should be pretty relaxed for us, and with the fall shaping up to be super busy we need all the down time we can get. I spotted this vintage tandem Schwinn the other day at a shop I frequent and came *this* close to buying it. My grandfather had one and it brings back such fond memories…plus it’s the “De Luxe Twinn” model!! Some links for you…

BON WEEKEND!

a beautiful mess feature

Our home (and babies) are featured on the A Beautiful Mess-At Home With series! Considering that ABM is one of my favorite reads, I’m thrilled! I spent a day shooting with the kids, but also used some of Courtney Apple’s beautiful shots that she took of our home last year. I love that it’s filled with babies now! Anyway, hello + welcome if you’re here visiting from Elsie and Emma’s blog, I do hope you will stay a moment. Leave a note so I can get to know you as well, MERCI!

I’m admittedly a lake girl at heart and mostly hide from the sun-a successful beach trip for me means coming back as pale as I left. However, we really wanted to give the babies their first sand + surf experience, so we drove a few hours to the lovely beach town of Avalon, NJ, after my friend Terry graciously invited us to join her family. I found myself reminiscing about happy days spent on the jersey shore as a child…the beautiful breeze, the tall grass, the family fun.  For the kids, apprehension turned into wonder. While Henry preferred to spend his time playing in the sand, Marie charged boldly into the water. She is pretty fearless, that girl. We were only on the beach for an hour, but we were all exhausted. It was definitely a challenge (and we’re still finding sand everywhere), but it was well worth it. Farewell summer!

(for the record…they did have hats on but they hated them + it was too windy…mom guilt for ya)
