bon weekend

I’m not sure I’ve ever been so thankful for a weekend..this week has been a doozy, with both me and the kids being sick (hence the lack of posts). We are finally feeling better, and I have my voice back, even if I sound like a lifelong smoker. I’ve been missing Paris fiercely lately (more than the usual), probably because I’m reaching the end of my content from last year (still streeetching that out). The kids haven’t stopped talking about our trip since the day we returned, and we’ve been keeping the memories fresh in a number of ways. I’m so thankful they loved it so much, and look forward to the day we can go back with them. Since I’m always planning for Paris, here are a few links to inspire some serious wanderlust.

I’m looking forward to quality time with family this weekend – after a week of both my husband and I traveling + the kids and I coming down with a killer cold, it’s much needed. Not to mention, it’s Valentine’s Day weekend! Not that we ever need an excuse to smother our loved ones with hugs and kisses, but this holiday makes it all sweeter, don’t you think? I photographed the treats you see above yesterday, after receiving the sweetest (pun intended) surprise package from my lovely friend Jill. She makes the most amazing caramels I’ve ever had in my life, no joke…and I may or may not be eating these caramels with my coffee this morning. As my Mom (and many others) always say…”life is short, eat dessert first”. After finishing this book this week, that sentiment couldn’t be felt any more heavily right now (and it’s a best seller for good reason). Hug your loved ones tightly, savor every day, and make someone feel extra special this weekend.

Having spent much of my childhood playing in the snow, I expect (and always want) more of it, and it seems Mother Nature has granted my wish. We are (literally) snowed in right now in Pennsylvania, but thankfully still have power (fingers crossed it stays that way). I’m feeling a mix of exhilaration and legitimate concern…if you’re a mother, you’ll understand what I mean. While this photo does not convey the amount of snow we currently have, hopefully it evokes the mood of a cozy winter weekend. Here are some links for your weekend enjoyment…stay safe + warm east coast friends.

Well hello November! I took this photo last week (and shared it on instagram)…thanks to warmer temps and gentle breezes, we still have this gorgeous scene here in Pennsylvania. Seriously – this season has been the most beautiful I’ve seen in the six years we’ve lived here. I simply cannot get enough, and have been oversharing the gorgeous fall colors on snapchat! This week has been a doozy – my focus has been on a new design client (yay) – but that also means my blog + social media took a backseat. More to come next week, to include a recap of Garance Doré‘s book signing (and meeting one of my idols, squeal)! In the meantime, I’ll leave you with some autumn-inspired links for your weekend!
