I have a confession. I took over 1,000 photos in the past few days! Two babies and two first Christmases will do that to a new mom. As you can see, I really enjoyed choosing their holiday outfits. They were perfect models, being especially patient considering mommy is still learning her way around manual mode. Adjusting ISO, aperture, and shutter speed is not ideal when two babies await, but I managed. I really don't know how professional photographers do it-you must always be ready or you will miss a magic moment. Marie is a riot and laughed when she fell over-knowing she was fine I snapped away and am so glad I did! I have so much more to share of our beautiful Christmas…more to come!

one year ago today…

One year ago today…our wishes came true when we discovered we were expecting! I remember the day very vividly-I just had a feeling, and so I bought a test (ok a few tests) and waited until mr. fleurishing came home from work, which was almost impossible for my impatient self. Together we waited, the minutes seemed infinite…and then we looked together. We gasped, cried happy tears, and hugged. A long, loving, beautiful embrace that I will never forget. In that moment, our lives were forever changed…our love had created life. We placed the two tests that we later gave to my parents in my stocking and took this shot. A bit freaky in my opinion, considering we learned after Christmas that we were having twins!! Needless to say, it was a very special holiday…but this one is even more so.

Saturday was hectic. We bundled everyone up and ventured out to our local tree farm, same as last year (plus two)! We knew it would be a challenge to juggle two babies and billy while searching for and cutting down a tree, but we were delusional up for it. Here’s how it went down- billy wanted to explore and subsequently fell into a (small) hole, henry started freaking out, marie decided to make a big mess in her diaper, and we began debating whether to call the whole thing off and forget a tree this year. Needless to say these photos were taken before the chaos ensued. Just more evidence that the lives of bloggers are not always as effortlessly beautiful as photos may portray! However-we did bring home a tree, and it is a reminder of our chaotic new life…full of love, laughter, and yes, a LOT of diapers.
