gearing up for cozy

DSC_0040

It might actually snow today in Pennsylvania, can you believe it?! I actually love cold wintery weather, so you won’t hear me complaining. I would like to enjoy fall just a bit longer however….the trees have just reached peak color here. We are geared up for a cozy weekend, and have enough wood stocked up for a few crackling fires if necessary…it’s one of my favorite features of our cottage. Bon weekend!!

the burning house project…

Burning-house

I'm sure you have heard of the Burning House Project, as it has been buzzing around the internet. I find this concept so fascinating and touching, and I can't help but participate. I am intrigued by the posts and what people treasure, and what they would grab in the case of a fire.  As much as I would love to grab my treasured records, books, photos and artwork, I have paired it down to the basics. Obviously this all assumes that my husband would be there with me. Billy thinks he can save us all, of course…which is one of his most adorable qualities. His courage is truly inspiring. Tell me…what would you take?

thoughts

Ever since moving to Philadelphia a year and a half ago, I have been continually inspired and energized by the amazing talent that thrives here. I continue to meet amazing entrepreneurs, artists and creatives that help make this city so vibrant. I kept thinking how great it would be to get people together, in one space, to meet, network and socialize, so the idea for this event was born. The Philly Creatives party was so much fun, and I have many to thank for helping make it an enticing and entertaining evening. I am grateful for the relationships I have built thanks to blogging, business and social media, and look forward to making many more…thank you to all who came out!

Janet & Stu of Three Potato Four kindly offered their space, which was perfect, and of course we all ended up shopping! Sullivan Owen created a beautiful fall floral arrangement, in a giant glass mason jar that I am coveting. Victoria Andreacchio of V’s Cupcakery in Norristown provided the most amazing cookies & cupcakes…seriously the best I’ve had in Philly! Lindsey Buck has such a talent for calligraphy, and made the gorgeous signage. The music and beautiful sound of Sharon Sable and E. Shawn Qaissaunee took things to another level. I am so thankful to have met them at the Terrain autumn festival, and just might become their newest groupie. Last but certainly not least, Art in the Age supplied the ROOT & SNAP which mr. fleurishing used to create some very pleasing libations!!

Interest has been expressed for another event, and your feedback and thoughts would help to make that a possibility. Maybe something quarterly, possibly having speakers? What are your thoughts?
