breakfast at parc

I always seek out bits and pieces of Paris, no matter where I am. Locally in Philadelphia, I get my Francophile fix at Parc. Overlooking the iconic Rittenhouse Square, you’re quickly transported the moment you step foot inside the door. Whether you’re seated inside on a cozy red leather banquette or among their numerous quaint bistro tables, you’re in for a treat. Offering an authentic French bistro experience, the atmosphere is just as French as the food. As you can imagine, when they reached out and invited me for breakfast, my answer was a swift and resounding “yes please”. In fact, Mr. Fleurishing and I decided to make it a belated Valentine’s day date in the city…click through to see our delicious déjeuner!

henry + marie’s “wild” new room

The wait is over – I can finally reveal the kids new room! It’s been a long time since I’ve shared Henry + Marie’s bedroom – since their nursery, to be exact. When we sold our home, we knew we would be creating a “big kid” room for them in our new space. Our industrial loft has greatly inspired my decor decisions, and I’ve enjoyed designing a more modern + minimal space. With awesome bones (hello exposed brick + beams) and beautiful light, there wasn’t too much to be done. I knew I wanted to have an accent wall behind their bunk beds and immediately started searching for wallpaper. However, we needed something renter-friendly, and that’s when I discovered Chasing Paper. They have an amazing line of high quality, removable wallpaper + wall decor. I quickly became smitten with the “wild” print by designer Sarah Watson and knew it was the one. Most importantly, the kids adore it – they’re working on names for each animal!

love + joy

I really enjoyed designing our holiday cards this year, and was thrilled to partner with Minted again. We just had to use an image from our Paris trip – and this one, captured by Ashley Ludaescher, is a favorite. Taken during our memorable afternoon at Notre Dame, we were all feeling pure love and joy, which is what led me to choose this beautiful card, designed by Melanie Severin. The card shines and sparkles, thanks to the gold foil-pressed text! Many thanks to Minted for making these gorgeous cards possible, and for nudging me to get them done early this year (psst – they have some New Year’s deals right now)! Wishing you all a holiday filled with love + joy…I’ll be back next week with a recap of 2015!

paloma’s nest

palomas-nest-stockings

Ever since discovering the beautiful handmade goodness of Paloma’s Nest six years ago, I’ve been in holiday decor heaven. Our personalized stockings are among my favorite Christmas decor…they are the first to go up, and the last to come down. Handcrafted of organic natural canvas + flannel and personalized with a white ceramic tile, they are meant to be cherished for years. I have no doubt that they will be, and plan to pass them along to the kids when they – sniff – leave the nest. It’s not too late to order some for yourself – personalized orders placed this week will ship (free) for delivery by Christmas Eve within the states! Don’t forget to get one for each of your family members, so Santa knows who’s who!

My beautiful Marie…aka my bunny. My mother called me sue bunny (and still does), and I now call my daughter bunny (and my son monkey). Having recently discovered the beautiful designs of Tortoise + the Hare Clothing, this linen rabbit cape caught my eye, for obvious reasons. Designer Rosina Lapp creates heirloom quality clothing on her family farm in Pennsylvania…one county over from us! Inspired by nature, the simplicity of her clothing appeals to me, and the attention to detail is evident in each piece. Please visit her site to see the entire collection, and feel free to use the code “fleurishing” for free shipping on any purchase (valid through November 22nd). As you know, supporting local makers and small businesses is incredibly important to me, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to showcase her work.
