le beaujolais est arrivé!
Tonight at the stroke of midnight in France (6 pm here), the 2011 vintage of Beaujolais Nouveau will be released, and people around the globe will raise a glass! What began as local fun after World War II has become a worldwide tradition celebrating the young red wine. Made from the Gamay grape in the Beaujolais region of France, it is fermented for only a few weeks before being released for sale on the third Thursday of November. It is an opportunity to taste wine at it’s most simple, or immature state…and to some that is not appealing. In my opinion, those people just don’t get it…the purpose is to experience the fruity flavor and lightness, and to join in a global celebration! Le Beaujolais est arrivé!
letterpress obsession…
I forgot to share my new business cards with you…I am smitten with them! The wonderfully creative ladies of Curious & Co. did it again…they really get my style. Letterpress is truly an obsession of mine, as well as beautiful fonts and anything gold. Needless to say, I’m a pretty happy client.

My friends…this week is a struggle for me. I am apparently having a fibromylgia “flare”, and have been in a lot of pain since Sunday. At times I have trouble walking, and my hands are so stiff I can barely use them…typing is not easy. And then yesterday…the fog set in. I hadn’t experienced this symptom before. There is no other way to decribe it…the clarity of life isn’t quite there as it usually is, and my mind is fuzzy and at times a bit blank. It is a bizarre feeling, and an unsettling one. I’m not sharing this for a pity party, but to maintian a level of openness and honesty about my personal life here. It is therapeutic to discuss it in a public forum, and maybe someone out there might relate to what I’m going through. Of course as a result of being housebound I am feeling down, and not being able to meet my obligations right now is a hard pill to swallow. I am trying to focus on the positives and hope that this episode will subside soon.

terrarium workshop
Just like a room that needs some greenery, I feel like my blog needs some nature. Every time I visit Terrain I am inspired by the terrariums, and guess what?! The one I made at their workshop is still alive!! That is seriously a miracle, as I do not have a green thumb. It looks beautiful in our kitchen and provides just the right amount of green…I might just make another one soon. Have you ever made one?
