grateful

Countryside

We spent Saturday touring the gorgeous pennsylvania countryside, and seeing some of the most amazing and historic homes in our area. Not only was I overwhelmed by the beauty (like this vista), but by the birthday wishes and thoughtful gestures by my friends. So much of that love came from people whom I have met here, through blogging and social media, and I am so very appreciative of this community. I am so honored and proud to be a part of it, and I am feeling very grateful. Thank you all…xoxo!

birthday festivities…

My birthday is tomorrow, but the fun starts tonight! I am looking forward to letting loose and being my silly self. Yep, that’s me, in a chandelier…at my 30th birthday party (two years ago). That night was so memorable and magical, thanks to my amazing friends. I’ll save you the math…I’m turning 32. We have a busy (and fun) weekend planned, so I’ll see you on Monday (maybe Sunday)…bon weekend!

paris is “buzzing”…

I am positively "buzzing" over this fun new fact I discovered. My apologies for the cheesy pun, I couldn't resist. Did you know that one of the most expensive (and sought after) honeys in the world is produced on the rooftop of the Paris Opera?! Beekeeper Jean Paucton, pictured above, set up hives twenty years ago when he was working there as a prop man. He eventually started selling his honey at Fauchon, and the rest is history. I happen to "bee" (again, sorry) a huge honey connoisseur, so I hope to get my hands on some of this next time I am there! Fauchon is always a delightful experience, with or without honey.

for the love of vinyl

The good news is…I recently found my old record collection! The bad news? I don’t have a record player. I’m working on that, and have this one on my wish list. However, just the sight of my records brings back so many happy memories. I have all of my beloved songs and albums in digital format of course, but it’s just not the same. I am yearning to hear the crackle, smell the vinyl, and watch it turn. Tell me…did you grow up with records, or develop a passion for them?

hello fall!

Well, it’s now *officially* fall, and I am celebrating that by remembering our last trip to Vermont. It was filled with crisp air, wood burning fires, breathtaking foliage, and…apple picking! I had never been apple picking before…ever, and was beside myself with excitement. If you are familiar with Anne of Green Gables, then you understand the vision I had in my mind…and yes, I am nearly identical to that character in romantic notions, dramatic personality, and the red hair, of course. As you can see, I teared up…it was exactly as I had imagined it…the mist, the solitude, and sharing it with my best friend (aka hubby)!

What are your favorite fall memories?
